Groundwood Books will be publishing my bedtime story! The Best tells its story in the first person, from the point of view of a young child with autism who has a self-set goal. Other excitements intervene until the end of the day, when the child does meet the goal, to say a just-learned multi-syllable word. An author’s note tells a bit about autism. Irene Luxbacher, known for her many children’s books and more, will be illustrating it. It’s due out in early 2028.
